Kym Whitley was born on June 7, 1961, in Shaker Heights, Ohio, United States. She is an American actress and comedian known for her work in television and film. She graduated from Fisk University with a bachelor's degree in theater. Whitley began her career in comedy clubs and landed her breakthrough role as Yvette in the ABC sitcom "The Parkers" (1999–2004). She has also appeared in films such as "Next Friday" (2000), "Deliver Us From Eva" (2003), and "Fun with Dick and Jane" (2005). Additionally, she has made guest appearances on television shows, including "Grey's Anatomy," "The Boondocks," and "Curb Your Enthusiasm." Whitley is also a philanthropist and founder of the Kym Whitley’s Don’t Feed Me organization, which helps children with food allergies.
